Established in 1720, the esteemed Joseph Cattin winery has been passed down through eleven generations, each one adding its touch of passion and expertise to the legacy. The vineyards spread across some of Alsace’s most prestigious terroirs, covering 65 hectares of diverse landscapes. These vineyards benefit from the region’s unique microclimate and rich soils, perfect for cultivating a wide range of grape varieties, including Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Noir. A unique aspect of Joseph Cattin is their dedication to preserving the natural environment, practicing sustainable viticulture to ensure the health of their vineyards for future generations. This commitment is reflected in their wines, which are celebrated for their purity, aromatic complexity, and true expression of the Alsace terroir. A highlight in their collection is the Crémant d’Alsace, a sparkling wine made using the traditional method, which has garnered acclaim for its elegance and finesse. Another standout is their Grand Cru Riesling, a wine that beautifully showcases the minerality and complexity of Alsace’s premier vineyard sites.

One of the most fascinating elements of Joseph Cattin is their historic cellar, which dates to the winery’s founding in 1720. This cellar, with its cool, stone-lined walls, provides the perfect conditions for aging wines to perfection. Another fascinating element about the winery is their panoramic tasting room, opened in 2015, which offers breathtaking views of the surrounding vineyards and the Vosges Mountains. This modern addition provides a stunning backdrop for tasting sessions, where visitors can savor the full range of Joseph Cattin wines while soaking in the beauty of the Alsace landscape.
