Domaine de Sainte Marie, located in the picturesque Jura region, is a hidden gem which has been quietly cultivating exceptional wines since its founding in 1999. This relatively young estate, however, quickly earned a reputation for its dedication to preserving the unique winemaking traditions of the Jura while infusing them with a modern sensibility. The domaine’s vineyards are nestled in the foothills of the Jura Mountains, where the cool climate and diverse soils create the perfect conditions for producing distinctive wines which are deeply reflective of their terroir.

Domaine de Sainte Marie is family-owned, and each generation has brought its own passion and expertise to the domaine, ensuring the wines continue to evolve while staying true to their roots. They focus on the indigenous grape varieties of the Jura, such as Savagnin, Trousseau, and Poulsard. These lesser-known varieties are at the heart of the region’s winemaking identity, and the domaine’s commitment to them is a testament to their respect for local heritage.

The estate’s vineyards are farmed organically, with a strong emphasis on biodiversity and natural balance. The winemaking process at Domaine de Sainte Marie is characterized by minimal intervention, allowing the grapes to express their full potential. The estate’s cellars, where the wines age gracefully in oak barrels, are steeped in a serene, almost monastic atmosphere, reflecting the careful and thoughtful approach taken in every aspect of winemaking.
