Domaine Philippe Livera, nestled in the prestigious village of Gevrey-Chambertin in Burgundy, is a family-owned estate which has been crafting exceptional wines for nearly a century. The domaine was founded in the 1920s by the Livera family, who have nurtured their vineyards with a deep respect for the land and an unwavering commitment to quality. Over the generations, the estate has grown in reputation, becoming known for producing some of the most powerful and age-worthy red wines in the region.

The family believes great wine begins in the vineyard, and as such, they practice sustainable farming with a focus on low yields and careful vineyard management. The vines, many of which are decades old, are pruned by hand, and the grapes are harvested manually to ensure only the best fruit makes it into the winery. This hands-on approach, combined with the unique terroir of Gevrey-Chambertin, results in wines which are both rich in flavor and deeply expressive of their origin.

Philippe’s children, Hélène and Damien, now run the domaine and have taken the family tradition to new heights by balancing time-honored techniques with modern innovations. The domaine has continued to thrive by producing wines which are both traditional in style and precise in execution. Their careful attention to detail extends to the winery, where fermentation takes place in small batches, and aging occurs in carefully selected oak barrels. The result is wines which are elegant, complex, and capable of aging gracefully for decades.
