Champagne Bruyen

Nestled in Reims, the house of Champagne Bruyen traces its origins back to around 1850, when the family were primarily growers. Over time, they shifted from selling grapes to producing their own wine, and by the 1920s were bottling and building a name for themselves. Today, sixth-generation winemaker Grégory Bruyen leads the domaine with a clear vision—combining tradition, sustainability, and creativity to craft Champagnes of precision and depth.

Champagne Bruyen’s fermentation in a mix of oak barrels and egg-shaped concrete vats brings both texture and purity, while careful blending preserves the clarity and freshness of the fruit. The result is Champagne that feels grounded and expressive, a true reflection of its terroir rather than a manufactured style.

Tasting a Bruyen Champagne reveals finesse and brightness. The Grande Réserve, for example—a 50/50 blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, with gentle dosage and full malolactic fermentation—shows crisp citrus, brioche, and stone-fruit aromas with a lively, persistent mousse. It’s elegant yet vivid, equally suited for a celebration or a quiet evening at home.

At University Wines, we’re proud to be the only store in the United States to import and offer Champagne Bruyen. For us, this partnership is about more than exclusivity—it’s about connecting our customers directly with an independent grower whose work embodies authenticity, artistry, and a deep respect for place. Each bottle tells a story of family legacy and modern craftsmanship, and we’re thrilled to share it with those who appreciate Champagne that feels both personal and extraordinary.
