Founded in 1936 by Gerardo Cesari, the Cesari winery has become a symbol of Veronese wine excellence recognized worldwide. Gerardo’s vision was to produce a prestigious Amarone which could rival the best Italian and international red wines. By the early 1970s, Cesari Amarone had already made its mark across five continents, marking the beginning of Cesari wines’ global success.

Today, the winery continues to balance tradition with innovation. With two state-of-the-art wineries located in Cavaion Veronese and Fumane, Gerardo Cesari produces elegant, harmonious, and balanced wines using sustainable practices. Each step in the winemaking process is carefully certified, ensuring the highest quality for consumers.

Cesari’s vineyards span approximately 100 hectares in Valpolicella and Lugana, including notable sites such as Bosan, Il Bosco, Jèma, and Cento Filari. The Bosan vineyard, located in Valpolicella, is renowned for producing the flagship Amarone Bosan, a blend of 80% Corvina and 20% Rondinella. In the Jèma vineyard, also in Valpolicella, hand-harvested Corvina grapes are cultivated using the traditional Pergola Veronese system, resulting in wines of exceptional quality.

A key aspect of Cesari’s winemaking is the traditional appassimento process, where grapes are dried to concentrate sugars and flavors, producing full-bodied and powerful wines. This technique is central to their Amarone production, allowing the wines to develop depth and complexity.
