Nestled in the rolling hills of Lantignié, in the heart of Beaujolais, Château du Basty is a historic family-owned estate with roots dating back to 1482. Passed down through generations, the domaine is now led by the dedicated Perroud family, who continue to craft wines which capture the essence of Beaujolais’ terroir. The château itself, steeped in history, offers visitors a glimpse into the rich winemaking heritage of the region.

The estate’s 16 hectares of vineyards are primarily planted to Gamay, the signature grape of Beaujolais, with a smaller portion dedicated to Chardonnay. Many of the vines are over 50 years old, thriving in the region’s granite-rich soils. This unique terroir, particularly in the high-altitude vineyards of Lantignié, imparts freshness, elegance, and a distinct minerality to the wines, earning the village a reputation as the “next Morgon” for its exceptional quality.

Château du Basty combines centuries-old tradition with a modern commitment to sustainability. Practicing lutte raisonnée and taking steps toward organic certification, the Perroud family prioritizes environmentally friendly viticulture. The estate produces a range of wines, from vibrant Beaujolais-Villages to the more structured Régnié Cru, known for their red fruit flavors, floral notes, and silky textures.
