Nestled in the heart of Burgundy, Domaine Jean-Michel Gaunoux & Fils stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of a family deeply rooted in the traditions and terroir of this hallowed region. With a lineage which traces back to 1875, the Gauxoux family has cultivated the art of winemaking with a dedication which spans generations.

Jean-Michel Gaunoux, a man whose passion for the vine is matched only by his respect for the land, established his own domaine in 1990 after honing his craft under the guidance of his father, Francois Gaunoux. Together with his son, winemaker Henri Gaunoux, they craft wines which are the very essence of Burgundy—elegant, mineral-driven whites from Premier Cru Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet vineyards, and regal Pinot Noir from the legendary plots of Volnay and Pommard.

Their approach to viticulture is one of harmony and balance, practicing lutte raisonnée—the “reasoned struggle”—avoiding pesticides and embracing green harvesting for low yields which ensure the highest quality. In the cellar, tradition reigns supreme as Henri employs a light touch, using a modest amount of new oak and refraining from both filtering and fining, allowing the wines to express their purest form.

The wines of Domaine Jean-Michel Gaunoux reflect the family’s commitment to excellence and their profound connection to the land. They are wines which not only speak of their origin yet also tell a story—a story of a family’s passion, a story of Burgundy’s soul.
