Nestled in the heart of Fixin, in Bourgogne’s Côte de Nuits, Domaine Joliet is the proud custodian of the historic Clos de la Perrière vineyard. This exceptional 5-hectare monopole was established in 1142 by Cistercian monks from the Abbey of Cîteaux, who recognized the site’s potential for producing outstanding wines. The vineyard’s unique terroir, characterized by limestone-rich soils and ideal exposure, has been celebrated for centuries.
In 1853, the Joliet family acquired the Clos de la Perrière, and today, Bénigne Joliet represents the sixth generation to oversee the estate. Under his guidance, the domaine has embraced sustainable viticulture and traditional winemaking techniques, ensuring that each bottle reflects the vineyard’s rich heritage. The red and white Premier Cru wines produced here are known for their elegance, complexity, and ability to age gracefully.
The vineyard is divided into four distinct parcels, each vinified separately to capture their unique characteristics. These components are then masterfully blended to create a harmonious wine that embodies the essence of Clos de la Perrière. This meticulous approach highlights the domaine’s commitment to expressing the nuances of their exceptional terroir.
