Nestled in the heart of Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune, Domaine Joseph Pascal carries a rich family legacy that began in the early 1900s, when Joseph Pascal settled in the village of PulignyMontrachet to cultivate the land. His son Jean refined his winemaking craft at the esteemed Domaine Leflaive before purchasing vineyard parcels in the 1950s alongside his wife Cécile. Today the estate spans roughly 15 hectares across four communes—Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault, Auxey-Duresses and Volnay—and is managed by the fourth generation, Alexandra (winemaking) and Yann Pascal (vineyards).
The domaine is particularly known for its white Burgundies—Chardonnays crafted with a subtle hand and a clear expression of place. Vines planted between the 1950s and 1980s give the wines depth and character, and the winemaking style is guided by a minimalist, terroir-first philosophy: sustainable viticulture, indigenous yeasts, modest new oak and an emphasis on freshness and clarity.
This family-run domaine stands out for its combination of tradition and forward motion. You get the comfort of a well-established Burgundy estate, and under the current leadership it feels vibrant: serious wines with soul and a modest intervention.
