Guy Charlemagne Champagne, located in the prestigious Côte des Blancs region of Champagne, is a family-owned house which has been crafting exceptional Champagnes since its founding in 1892. Situated in the Grand Cru village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, the estate is renowned for its dedication to producing Blanc de Blancs Champagnes, made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes. The Charlemagne family, now in its fifth generation of winemakers, continues to uphold the traditions and values which have made their Champagne house a symbol of quality and elegance.

Guy Charlemagne Champagne is committed to expressing the terroir of the Côte des Blancs. The family owns and manages over 15 hectares of vineyards, the majority of which are classified as Grand Cru—a testament to the exceptional quality of the land. The chalky soils of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger impart a distinctive minerality and finesse to the wines, which are known for their purity, precision, and ability to age gracefully. Each bottle of Guy Charlemagne Champagne reflects the family’s deep connection to their vineyards and their meticulous approach to winemaking.

The winemaking process at Guy Charlemagne is characterized by a blend of tradition and innovation. The family believes in minimal intervention, allowing the natural characteristics of the grapes to shine through. The Champagnes are aged for extended periods in the estate’s cool, underground cellars, a practice which adds complexity and depth to the wines. This patient, careful approach results in Champagnes which are both elegant and richly layered, with a fine mousse and a long, lingering finish. The house’s flagship cuvée, “Mesnillésime,” is a prime example of this philosophy, offering a harmonious balance of freshness and complexity which has made it a favorite among connoisseurs.
