Le Mesnil isn’t your typical Champagne house. Based in the Côte des Blancs region of Champagne, France, Le Mesnil is a cooperative winery owned by grape growers in the village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. As such, every bottle they produce reflects the exceptional quality of their grapes.

Le Mesnil-sur-Oger boasts the unique distinction of having 100% of its vineyards classified as Grand Cru, the highest ranking for vineyards in Champagne. This translates to prime growing conditions for Chardonnay grapes, the sole grape variety used in Le Mesnil’s Champagnes.

Le Mesnil prioritizes minimal intervention winemaking techniques. This allows the inherent characteristics of their Grand Cru Chardonnay grapes to shine through in every bottle. Following fermentation in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks, the wines undergo extended aging on the lees (spent yeast sediment) in the bottle. This process, a hallmark of traditional Champagne production, adds depth, complexity, and those signature tiny bubbles. Le Mesnil Champagnes are known for their finesse and elegance. Expect beautiful balance between fruit and toasty notes, complemented by a refreshing minerality reflecting the unique terroir.

University Wines holds the distinction of being the only store in Seattle to carry these exceptional Champagnes, offering you a chance to experience the pinnacle of Chardonnay-driven bubbly from a truly special place.
